Switzerland passport photo requirements 2026 — cantonal checklist
Every Swiss biometric passport-photo rule — 32-36 mm face, light grey background, no glasses since 2010, 300 DPI. How CH differs from DE.
What Swiss authorities check
Swiss biometric passport and ID-card photos follow the spec at schweizerpass.admin.ch. Swiss spec mirrors the German DACH baseline (32-36 mm face, light grey background, no glasses) but at 300 DPI not 600. A German-spec photo passes in Switzerland; a Swiss one might be marginal in Germany. Live spec on our Switzerland passport photo page.
