Foto2Pass review: honest pros, cons, and who it is for
A review of Foto2Pass written by the team: the photo check before you pay, the money-back guarantee, what we do not do well, and who should use it.
Why we are writing our own review
It is a little odd to review your own product, so let us be open about the conflict. People who search for “Foto2Pass review” land on whatever ranks first. We would rather the first thing you read is a plain list of pros and cons from us, including what we do not do well, than a thin page from someone with a commission to earn. Read it as what it is: our own view.
Who Foto2Pass is for
- People who need a passport, ID card, visa or driving licence photo for one of the 24 countries we support, and who have a phone with a working camera.
- People who want the photo checked against the official rules before they pay, especially those who have had a photo rejected before.
- People who want a written money-back guarantee instead of a vague “reprint policy”.
Who Foto2Pass is not for
- People applying in a country where the authority takes the photo itself, such as Sweden, or for a Swiss passport. There you do not need your own photo, and we do not sell one.
- People who need printed photos in their hand within the hour. Prints go by post; the delivery time for your country is on the price card. A local photo shop wins on speed.
- People with only a very old phone camera. Software can fix lighting and background, but not a blurry photo.
The pros
- Photo check before payment. Our AI checks your photo against your country's rules, such as head size, background, expression and tilt, and tells you what to fix before you pay. Retakes before you pay are free.
- Money back if the authority rejects it. If the government, embassy or consulate rejects the photo we delivered, we refund in full. Send us the rejection notice within 60 days. The details are in our refund policy.
- 16 languages and local prices. You pay in your own currency, and the size and rules follow your country's specification.
- No subscription. Pay once, get the photo.
The cons (what we would tell a friend)
- We are new. We do not have years of track record or a large number of reviews yet. If that matters most to you, an established photo shop is the safer choice for now.
- Prints take a few days. We use a print partner with postal delivery, so there is no same-day option. If your appointment is tomorrow, download the digital file right away; the prints will not make it in time.
- No one stands next to you. We cannot direct the shoot in person. If you struggle to take a photo at home (poor light, no plain wall, no one to help), a photographer will do better.
- Not the cheapest. A digital photo costs €8.99 in the euro countries ($9.99 in the US, £7.99 in the UK). Cheaper apps exist; check what they check and whether they refund a rejected photo.
- No phone line. Support is by email, and we answer within 2 business days. If you want to call someone at 11 pm, that is not us yet.
The honest recommendation
If you have a recent phone, a plain wall, a few minutes, and you want the photo checked against the official rules before you pay, Foto2Pass is a good fit. If you need prints within the hour, or a long track record matters most to you, we are not your service yet.
Try it: start your passport photo with Foto2Pass. Photo check before you pay, money back if the authority rejects it, no subscription.
