Belgian biometric passport, eID and driving-licence photos follow the spec on diplomatie.belgium.be. Belgium is unusual in accepting both white and light grey backgrounds, with 600 DPI minimum (matching France and Germany). Live spec on our Belgium passport photo page.
The numbers
- Print size: 35 × 45 mm.
- Face height: 31–36 mm (chin to crown).
- Resolution: 600 DPI minimum.
- Background: white OR light grey, uniform.
- Maximum age: 6 months.
- No glasses as of 2014, even fully transparent.
Where you submit it
Issued by your local gemeentehuis / maison communale. Some communes accept digital upload at 600 DPI; most require a printed photo brought to the appointment.
