Spain passport photo requirements 2026: 26×32 mm explained
Spanish biometric photos are 26×32 mm (width × height) on white, smaller than the EU standard. Every rule, where to submit, how to take it at home.
What Spanish authorities check
Spanish biometric passport and DNI photos follow the spec maintained by the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores and Policía Nacional. The official size is 26 × 32 mm (26 mm wide, 32 mm high) on a white background, smaller than the usual European 35 × 45 mm; some Spanish consulates accept up to 35 × 45 mm. - Maximum age: 6 months.
- Glasses: allowed, but not with dark lenses (“sin gafas de cristales oscuros”). Avoid reflections on the lenses.
- Mouth closed, neutral expression, both eyes visible.
Where you submit it
